Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration

Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration is the new name for House of Illustration.

We are the UK’s only charity for illustration – the art we experience in our everyday lives.

Our exhibitions and projects celebrate illustration, support illustrators and empower people of all ages to tell their stories.

We are restoring an industrial heritage site to create the national centre for illustration. We are the UK's centre for this varied and vital art form, empowering everyone to tell their stories through images.

Our Learning Offer

We combine illustration with subjects across the curriculum with our resources and workshops for students and teachers.

Tailored to your topic and led by professional illustrator-educators, workshops support students' communication and wellbeing as well as topic learning, and are rated good or excellent by 100% of teachers. Our free online teaching resources support teachers to use illustration techniques in the classroom, across the curriculum.

Example Project

Character Design workshop: Create characters from text descriptions – just let us know the book you’re studying. Or invent exciting brand new characters from imagination. Great for Humanities and English/Literacy.
