EXODUS – TAKE PART is a participatory arts project that seeks to work with young people and families in Camden schools to dispel misconceptions about migrants and refugees by using the creative arts to sensitively explore individual stories. Scarabeus Aerial Theatre is working with Migrant Help UK to deliver this programme to aid communication, improve understanding and challenge negative perceptions around refugee arrivals. Participants will also develop physical and creative skills using exciting and inspirational aerial (circus) techniques.
Scarabeus are seeking partner schools in Camden to take part in this exciting project. Are you a school with a high proportion of refugees and other migrant communities? If so we would love to hear from you.
EXODUS – TAKE PART uses a combination of activities: yoga, aerial techniques (harness and cocoons), physical theatre and visual theatre, storytelling and textile work. Each school will receive: six in-school sessions for a chosen year-group; six after-school sessions for students and families working together; and two INSET sessions for school staff.
All schools will also receive a copy of Migrant Help’s teacher training pack Education in a Diverse UK.
