Exposing new music to new audiences - engaging and uplifting a diverse local community
Small Green Shoots and Urban Partners collaborate to bring live music to Pancras Square.
Starting on Thursday 18th August and running every Thursday until 8th September, The UPShoots Sessions, a new series of live outdoor music performances, will be coming to the heart of King’s Cross and St Pancras.
Looking to promote upcoming and emerging artists, the Upshoots Sessions is the brainchild of Small Green Shoots, a local charity specialising in arts-based projects for NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) young people, and has been developed with the help of Urban Partners and its member businesses, including Argent, Eurostar, The Guardian, Grant Thornton, Produce UK and Springer Nature.
The initiative has been organised and run entirely by young people working with Small Green Shoots in the King’s Cross, St. Pancras and Euston area. The programme has included masterclasses with Urban Partners’ members on areas such as Health & Safety, Design & Marketing, Budgets, Web Design and PR.
The Upshoots Sessions performances will take place at Pancras Square, running on Thursday lunchtimes (12:30-2pm) across the 4 weeks. The initiative aims to develop new music audiences, and provide potential opportunities for the acts involved.
