Venue: Ben Uri Gallery & Museum, 108A Boundary Road, off Abbey Road, London NW8 0RH
How to book: Contact the Learning Team on: firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0207 604 3991 and speak to Lisa or Alix
Details: Upper KS2 children will spend a half day in the gallery exploring the role of the Curator. Children will discuss, design and build a model of their ideal gallery/museum as well as curate their very own show based on works from our collection.
Artworks will be divided into key themes for children to consider. They will be encouraged to add contemporary twists to their utopian vision, thinking beyond the white cube. Through examining the museum collection pupils will explore issues of identity and migration and consider artwork linked to WW1 and WW2.
The young people will also have an opportunity to explore our current exhibition: A Farewell to Art, Chagall, Shakespeare and Prospero (see image above. On from 1st November 2017 - 11th February 2018)
