Nnenna Okore - Textile Sculptures

Monday 30th October - Friday 1st December 2017

Nigerian artist Nnenna Okore creates abstract works inspired by the textures, colours and landscapes of her local environment.

Okore relies on the use of everyday found objects, which she repurposes, transforming them into intricate sculptural installations using repetitive and labour-intensive techniques such as weaving, twisting, sewing, dyeing, waxing and rolling. Gallery Educator Neysela da Silva-Reed will try them all with you and your students!
