Camden wins London Mayor's Cultural Impact Award

‘CAMDEN ALIVE’,  a project outlined in Camden's bid to be The London Borough of Culture, has been selected for one of the cultural impact awards by the Mayor of London.  This is an innovative project to connect Camden’s communities with some of our national cultural institutions. It will take place on housing estates in Camden and pilot a new way of working with and in communities. It will draw on our resident’s stories, migration journeys, their tales and experiences of living in Camden.  It will promote and build augmented reality ‘cultural routes’ around the borough.  We look forward to seeing our partners and residents to bring this project alive!

Although Camden did not win London Borough of Culture, the process drew together and galvanised many members of Camden’s cultural community, uniting and collectively promoting the huge cultural offer of our borough.  That work and spirit will be built upon further in the planning and delivery of the CAMDEN ALIVE project and also as Camden Council move forward with the development and delivery of the new Cultural Framework for Camden.
